What is Linkedin Learning:
LinkedIn Learning is the network’s platform for online courses, launched to help LinkedIn members educate themselves and better their careers as well as improving student’s knowledge.
The platform was launched in 2015 when LinkedIn acquired Lynda.com, the famous online learning platform. Subsequently, all of the courses available on Lynda now became available on LinkedIn Learning as well.
Similarly, to Udemy, LinkedIn Learning is a paid platform. It has more than 13,000 available courses which you can attend on-demand. You get certificates after completing courses and taking tests. You can showcase these certificates on your LinkedIn Profile.
How does Linkedin Learning work?:
Let’s say that you want to give the platform a go and find useful courses to attend right away.

You can do this in three ways:
1.    You can choose a certain topic, for example, physic. Once you put that in your search bar, you will find relevant courses. Note: there are tons of courses, so take your time to choose the right one before you get started.
2.    Choose a specific tool or software you want to learn. For example, you can take a look at specialized Excel or Photoshop courses. If you need a certain tool for your next job, this is a great way to pick up on something relevant to get a promotion or a new position. Be mindful of the course release date to find the most recent and relevant information here.
3.    Perhaps the most interesting way is called Learning Paths. Just as its name says, this learning method lets you take a path towards a certain field of expertise. For example, say that you want to get started with content marketing. Learning Paths will suggest courses in copywriting, marketing writing, content promotion, advertisement etc. It can’t give you a degree in digital marketing, but Learning Paths is a great way to quickly get up to speed in certain fields where no formal education is available.
Once you’ve found a course you want to attend, you’ll get the following information:
Course difficulty
The number of members
Course description
Course length
The content upon completion
Skills covered
Date released
What’s included in the course
About the instructor
The number of viewers
Companies where most viewers work

The students role in Linkedin Learning:
To access Linkedin learning, students must first open the email and click the Activate LinkedIn Learning now button. They'll be taken to LinkedIn Learning, where they can view thousands of courses on business, tech, and creative topics.
With more than 5,000 courses and personalized recommendations, students can discover, complete, and track courses related to their own field and topic interests. Student can also choose to add these courses and related skills to their LinkedIn profile once they've completed them. To further enhance student learning experience, many of the courses come equipped with exercise files and assessments, and transcripts for the video. They can also use LinkedIn Learning to provide feedback to courses, and view and download videos offline.

The admin (teacher/trainer) role in Linkedin Learning
Linkedin currently offers various courses in English, French, German, Japanese & Spanish. Course developer or teacher can easily upload tier courses in 4 of these languages and they can easily create online assessment/exercise for every course they enrol in the system.  Learning admins will have the ability to add learners to the account and create groups among their learners. Admins can also unassign or reassign seats for existing learners.
Admins will recommend learning courses to their organization’s learners. They can also create and recommend learning paths, which are a series of learning courses. Admins can measure learning activity for their organization with access to Learning reporting and analytic. The ‘Admin Account Center’ home tab is a great place to check in regularly as you manage learners and content. The system will recommend content for you as a learning and development professional, and some suggested best practices to make the most of learning for your organization.
Linkedin learning benefits trainers in the sense that:
ü  Upskill your student and close job-related skills gaps
ü  Develop new and experienced managers and leaders
ü  Deliver cost-effective, uniform training on a global scale
ü  Engage and retain student by investing in their development
ü  Keep student current on the latest productivity tools
